Anna Lindh, the popular Swedish foreign minister, has been stabbed to death by an unknown assailant. Lindh had been leading the Swedish government's "yes" campaign for an upcoming referendum on joining the Euro. Link via Tim Blair.

One of the plusses to gun violence is that the typical bullet wound doesn't hurt near as bad as multiple stabs to the liver with a sharp insturment.

olaf palme's murder in feb of 86 still rears its head in swedish media life. this will probably do the same. it's awfully sad...

and a lot of eurolefties are taking some schadenfreude in calling the assassin/murderer/ coward-asshole "a right wing, anti euro" person. they now have their balance to Pim Fortyn's murder by a lefty (with due respect to our friend, Lefty).

still, the EU sucks and should be stopped...
