What does Mr. Crouch have to say about the great black musicians such as Cecil Taylor, Sun Ra, Eric Dolphy, et al who "Pushed beyond swing" and then some? Are these innovators just self-loathing pawns of the whote establishment. And since Wynton Marsalis (unlike Ornette Coleman) plays within the same key, mode, and harmonic frames that came out of Europe, is he bowing to a white aesthetic? What a cracker!
