Strom Thurmond, RIP
A thousand old-fart jokes die with the 100-year-old ex-Senator.

Strom Thurmond is dead. The Supreme Court rules that gays are people, too.
This is the finest day of my life.

Nebokla, your grandfather is 101 years old?! Wow! How'd he do it?
David2:
How 'bout this?
Marriage counselor: "You know, Mr. Lincoln, it wouldn't kill you to take your wife to the theater."
"The amazing thing is that he broke his hip a year ago."
Thanks for sharing, Nebloka. I'm 35. But I've always wondered ... why is it that old people (excuse me, seniors) always seem to break their hips? What is it about geriatrics and hips anyway?
My Dad (who also lived to be 89) once told me that the reason we get back aches or back problems is because, even after 2 million years or so, man still isn't completely used to walking upright.
He may have had a point. But hips!? What's up with that? Do you know?
Burns:
When you fall down, there's a pretty good chance most of your weight will come down on your hip. That's why they train stunt men to distribute the impact over as wide an area as possible when they take a fall.
He's the same age as Eric Blair! (would've been 🙂
Do you think it was the sodomy ruling or the affirmative action ruling that finally did him in? Or the 1-2 combination?
ha ha lets make fun of a dead guy, we so clever!
Strom Thurmond's last words supposedly were:
"Congress will pass that health plan over my dead body.."
Thurmond died, and Congress passed the plan.
G. Burns, he's not 101 - but he's still alive. So I guess that counts.
My grandfather turns 89 on July 11th though, so he's getting up there.
The amazing thing is that he broke his hip a year ago, had surgery, and now he's up and around and getting into trouble again (after a brief stay in a nursing home - apparently either the staff or the residents really liked Rap since it was blaring whenever I visited).
Ah so! Thanks! I see!
Hmm, maybe that's why our butts are so cushiony? You suppose?
I'm constantly amazed at the self-defense mechanisms that nature builds into itself.
I think it generally better to make fun of dead people than to make fun of living people. At least when you make fun of a dead person, they don't feel bad - because they're dead, you see.
When you make fun of a dead person, they don't feel ... at all. (Period.)
Pluto, why are you following us around all over H&R creation tonight? What, nothing worthwhile on the telly this evening?
And Trent Lott is thinking, "Why couldn't the old coot have kicked off seven months ago?!?"
It was my grandfathers goal to outlive Strom Thrumond. Looks like he succeeded!

Gratitude is the most exquisite form of courtesy.
