Propaganda Proscription
The Washington Times reports that a House committee has "turned back" legislation that would have authorized the Office of National Drug Control Policy to use taxpayer money for partisan political purposes under the pretext of fighting legalization. The bill would have permitted ONDCP-sponsored ads targeting drug policy reformers.

Meanwhile, legislation is being introduced in Canada today to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana.

The Drug Czar probably choked on his martini last night if he saw Willie Nelson's 70th birthday party show on the USA channel. There were a bunch of good natured, sideways jokes about Willie's ongoing pot smoking, at least one song about it and he even made a crack to Bill Clinton about possibly seeing him "up on the roof" at one his concerts.
Oh good, the feds passed on a chance to spend my money on outrageous propaganda. Now if they would stop arresting people for alleviating the suffering of the sick and dying, we might actually be able to move in the right direction.
Check and see if your congress person (or even one in your state) is on the Government Reform Committee. Contact, and give him or her big kudos if they voted the right way and chastise them severely if they voted for government funded propaganda.
