When police in West Midlands, United Kingdom, told Mark Smith where to go to pick up his stolen Ford Focus, they left out one little detail. The vehicle was still in the possession of the gang that stole it. When he went to get it, the gang showed up and chased him off. Police eventually recovered the auto, but Smith is still just a bit upset: "Surely the police could have checked things out more thoroughly."
