No more Dutch monopoly on pot tourism??
Miserable fat Belgian bastards...
Did anyone catch the story last weekend where G.W. threatened Canada if they loosened their pot laws?
Switzerland - Get High and Go Skiing
Warren, are you sure GW threatened, or was it a govt agency crying over it?
So it's England, Canada, Australia, Switerland, Netherlands, Belgium and 9/50 of the states.
hmmm.
Perhaps THIS is the reason behind the War on Terror?
I think drugs - yes all of 'em - should be legal but I'm also aware that hypocrite Clinton toughened drug laws so there's no real reason for any partisan piling on. The worst part is that so many of those strongly anti-drug are so right on so many other issues and vice versa.
But what about THE CHILDREN?
Switzerland - there's a spot opening up on the Axis of Evil, you know?
Imported Swiss chocolate brownies are sure to follow.
Well, I am not in favor of using drugs, but I am in favor of their legalization. Hopefully Americans will see that societies of Switzerland et al. do NOT explode into maelstroms of death and destruction with the legalization of pot. Then, just maybe, people will reconsider the futile and wasteful drug war. But, that has not been the case for other emotional topics (e.g., capital punishment, abortion), so it's just blind hope at this point.
Rusty is right on about Clinton's role in the current drug war predicament. But, Just Say No etc. pre-dates Clinton, so we can only say that federal leadership over the last 20 years or so has been going the wrong direction.
Let's hope for some REAL moral courage (not bashing gays or Muslims, which requires neither morality nor courage), and an end to the waste of billions on locking up millions of non-violent drug users.
