Dim and Dimmer
And you thought Andy Rooney's cranky patter was bad. Let's replay the 1996 presidential campaign over and over. That's 60 Minutes' idea of good TV. The show has inked Bill Clinton and Bob Dole to revive its Point/Counterpoint segment.
C'mon give the people what they really want. Ross Perot and Pat Buchanan. At twenty paces.

hey Warren,
it's still on, but they've reduced it to 30 second soundbytes interrupted by entertainment gossip, ads, some reality programming, and some sort of cruelty joke -- no wait. that's andy r.
instead of bobdole and clinton, could we have the sat nite live people do this instead? it would be more fun...
cheers,
drf
I've read that they'll each make 45-second arguments, followed by 15-second rebuttals. That's a "debate." What a joke.
Anybody remember that "Con Talk" skit by Cheech & Chong?
How long until Dole calls Clinton "an ignorant slut?"
I vote for Ann Coulter v Eric Alterman. Just as useful, and far more entertaining. Messes with the *ignorant slut* and *pompous ass* image, too.
I'd vote for Ann Coulter vs. Michael Moore, myself.
60 minutes is still on?
