I think the people behind this phenomenon are the same shitheads who were buying up Deet (for West Nile Virus) last summer, and Cipro the fall before that. Innumeracy is alive and well.

Personally, I think it makes more sense for anyone whose politics are more than mildly radical to have some fake ID papers and a bugout kit handy. Your chances of internment without trial are a lot greater than any threat from a FOREIGN enemy.
