Iraqi Nukes Down the Tubes?
The Washington Post is reporting that there are now grave doubts about the ultimate purpose of aluminum tubes that supposedly were part of an Iraqi uranium enrichment effort.
Turns out a very good -- if not better -- reason for the 81mm tubes is to help replace 81mm artillery rockets. The rockets are also weapons the Iraqis are allowed to have.
The Iraqis, of course, claimed all along that the tubes were for rocket use. Now officials at the International Atomic Energy Agency have come around to that view. This could carry great weight with UN flunkies in the coming weeks.
