Details remain sketchy but those amazing disappearing bubonic plague vials at Texas Tech University remain an issue for the law. A university professor is being held without bond in the case.

Dr. Thomas C. Butler has been accused of giving false information to the FBI about the plague vials.

Of course details are sketchy. I hope this investigation isn't being run by the same incompetents handling Richard Hatfill.

Maybe it's just me, but this story was yet another illustration of the fact that we, as Americans, are way too hypersensitive to any threat of terrorism right now. I'm sure labs such as the one at Texas Tech misplace vials on a fairly regular basis. But the instant this story broke, all of the usual suspects (FOX News, MSNBC, CNN, etc) already had their bio-terrorism experts live on the air to answer questions. Is it me, or has TV news reporting morphed into some sort of absurd theatre these days?

Brad, the media should know that since he's a university professor he is obviously a liar and a communist.
