Mo' Joe
As a resident of Connecticut, let me take this opportunity to apologize to all of you for the likely presidential candidacy of Joe Lieberman. With Al Gore out of the running for the Democratic nomination in '04, be prepared for a long, painful period of moral instruction with stern lectures from The Honorable Senator on responsibility, character, integrity, "doing the right thing," and all those other values on which Americans turn to politicians for guidance.
The good news is that we may be able to make it up to you if the far more lively Nutmeg State senator, former DNC-chairman Chris Dodd, steps back into the national spotlight. It says here that he too may take a shot at the presidential nomination, and is considering a run for Senate minority leader if Tom Daschle steps aside.
What would Sanctimonious Joe say about Dodd's infamous "waitress sandwich" episode with Ted Kennedy? Now that's the sort of thing politicians are good for.
