No Vale of Tears
He could not keep the pace up,
On this journey I'd begun.
the speed was dizzy,
The path too steep,
And strewn with hurdles
Forbidding sleep.
He could not give the comfort up,
Of crowds in vast agreement.
He saw the goal
Bright thru my eyes,
But dimly thru his own…
That's how love dies.
I would not give the journey up,
Or be the strength for two.
I might have wept,
Had I not known,
It's no more lonely,
To be alone.
