Peanut butter and jelly
Heavily piled on a Ritz cracker
Sure does beat vichyssoise.
Forever there will be men
Who will happily manipulate Dow Jones
Or glibly talk of a fifty megaton trade-off.
But never will there be enough
Who will gently lie beside you
And after they are spent
Gently caress you and say "I need you."
Scenes vivid in my mind
A tear hanging precariously
Lips full and unrouged
A shoulder freckled and telltale
Old pain pressing and unreleased
Of womanhood quested but unfound
And ecstasy questioned then released
New visions haltingly approached
Doors seen as bolted now unlatched
Stepping through with chains unshackled
