Brickbat: Arrest Me Once, Shame on You

In January, Clay County, Florida, sheriff's deputies arrested Ashley Nicole Chiasson on a charge of grand theft. She spent 28 days in jail before they figured out they were supposed to have arrested Ashley Odessa Chiasson. Then, in May, they arrested her again for attempting to pass bad checks. She spent a week in jail before they figured out they were supposed to have arrested the other Ashley Chiasson. After local media began investigating the story, and after Ashley Nicole Chiasson's attorney sent them a letter informing them she intended to sue, the sheriff's office finally arrested the right Ashley Chiasson.

    Two Brickbats and neither link SF'd? Oh you do spoil us Mr Oliver

  • ||

    Seriously. I guess it's a good thing I can't get to sleep.

  • Swiss Servator, CH yeah!||

    Persons were arrested, names were listed, procedures were followed. What is the problem here?

  • RishJoMo||

    Florida cops are not the brightest bulbs in the pack!

    "WentAnon"? I like it.

    I knew that this site was becoming an echo chamber, but now that I'm finding myself agreeing even with RishJoMo......... Maybe I need a hobby.

  • Swiss Servator, CH yeah!||

    This doesn't count as a hobby?

    If change is inevitable, predictable, beneficial, doesn't logic demand that you be a part of it? One woman cannot summon the future. But one woman can change the present. Be the sheriff of Clay County, Ashley Nicole Chiasson. Find a logical reason for arresting the correct Ashley Chiasson and make it stick. Push till it gives. You can defend yourself better than any woman in the criminal justice system.

    What? Nobody got that?
    I hate to say it, but: "Good job, FOE".

  • ||

    In FoE's cabin is a device that will make Ashley Nicole Chiasson invincible.

    In defense of the cops, one must admit that "Nicole" and "Odessa" are close enough to cause confusion: they both have six letters and sound foreign. The two Ashleys apparently also had similar Social Security numbers and fingerprints. Unfortunate, but these things happen.

  • The Late P Brooks||

    Which of these women has more and better stuff to steal?

  • SRVolunteer||

    We all know that between the two Ashley Chiasson's...

    Nicole would have to be the worst.

  • Voros McCracken||

    At least she's not named Michael Bolton.
