I've read somewhere that after humans beavers are the animal that has the greatest impact on its environment. In some areas they are even considered pests. Ever seen a full grown one, they are pretty big, surprisingly.

When I initially read the headlines, I assumed it meant some backwoods hicks in Appalachia were caught gathering firewood illegally.
But then I thought that they should probably still be considered protected wildlife.
