Roseanne vs. Brangelina
Roseanne Barr, whose rendition of The National Anthem ranks closely with Leslie Nielson's as the best ever, is livid over the non-endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
Barr writes on her blog:
"Aren't you supposed to be somewhat enlightened, or do you not know that the African daughter you hold in every picture had parents who suffered and died because of the Republican party's worldwide economic assault on Africa over the last few decades since Reagan?"...
"Angelina Jolie and her vacuous hubby Brad Pitt make about forty million dollars a year in violent psychopathic movies and give away three of it to starving children trying to look as if they give a crap about humanity as they spit out more dunces that will consume more than their fair share and wreck the earth even more," Roseanne wrote.
Jolie, who has been suspected of harboring pro-McCain sentiments, released this statement last week:
"I am waiting to see the commitments [McCain and Obama] will make on issues like international justice, refugees and how to address the needs of children in crisis around the world," she said.

The problem with a "Barr for President" bumper sticker is that
most people think you're referring to this douchebag.
Yeah, it's fucking terrible that Brangelina are highly productive
people making stuff that people willingly pay to see. How dare
they? And they clearly hate black people if they won't endorse
Obama.
And, you can fault the Republican party for a lot of goofy stuff,
but Africa's troubles are largely self-inflicted due to really
shitty government.

roughly comparable to regular people - ie, most of them don't know
what they're talking about - but they've got such big soap boxes
that their words are judged according to the standards rightfully
applied to Congressmen or think tankers.

Umm, hang on a second here. So, Rosanne (as I read this) would be
happy if Jolie and her "vacuous hubby" who will "spit out dunces"
and "consume more than their fair[sic] share" endorse Obama. If one
were an Obama supporter, aren't these the people you
wouldn't want endorsing your pet candidate? Wouldn't this
be like McCain supports getting miffed about a lack of endorsement
from, say, the KKK?

Apart from not fighting harder to open trade barriers, I really
can't fault the GOP for the situation in Africa. And the GOP has

Jolie and Pitt are both Rand fans, not neccessarily buying into
all of it though. I remember reading about how Jolie was not a
blind Democrat as many expect her to be (as if i needed another
reason to like her). Her father is Jon Voight, but he convertd
pretty hard later on didn't he?
On second thought, i don't care about any of this. Except that i'd
like to see Roseanne be given a bigger forum so she could
permanently discredit herself.

Roseanne Barr is wrong, but honestly I cant think of any reason
to vote for McCain other than hating black people.
I can't think of any reason to vote for Obama either.
It's not that I hope the Jolies would support Obama ( I thought
Roseanne backed McKinney anyway?), there's just no reason for
anyone to support McCain. Certainly not libertarians, not
"conservatives," and not decent people in general.

President? As she is a comedienne who sometimes acts, perhaps she
could enlist an actor who sometimes does comedy as her running
mate, and both could campaign in character: She, as her signature
domestic goddess, he as that weird misanthropic guy who only wanted
the Red Swingline Stapler in "Office Space." We all remember that
guy: perfect VP material. What was the actor's name again? Oh,

Roseanne I agree with you 100%. I'm a black American and celebrities trip me out when they feel that they must go to some poor lowly country to adopt their [extremely] unattractive children. We have children right here in the US that go to bed hungry every night. Adopt one of them!
