Call it schadenfreude, call it what you will, but it is so so sweet watching the McCain Machine break down:

The campaign manager and chief strategist of Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign quit Tuesday, dealing a blow to his struggling campaign.

Campaign manager Terry Nelson and chief strategist John Weaver — a longtime adviser to the Arizona Republican — said in separate statements that their resignations would be effective immediately.

Matt Welch explained in our April issue why all Americans of good will should feel their hearts leap as McCain's prospects fall.

Sorry, I was just making a cheap zombie joke at Kerry's expense. I caught your point and rather agree. McCain could do well in the primary. It all depends on how freaked out the country is at Mormons. Heck, it's the one reason you can't entirely count out even a Paul surge. Giuliani can be discounted as too otherworldly for most GOPers, I think.
