Call it schadenfreude, call it what you will, but it is so so sweet watching the McCain Machine break down:
The campaign manager and chief strategist of Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign quit Tuesday, dealing a blow to his struggling campaign.
Campaign manager Terry Nelson and chief strategist John Weaver — a longtime adviser to the Arizona Republican — said in separate statements that their resignations would be effective immediately.
Matt Welch explained in our April issue why all Americans of good will should feel their hearts leap as McCain's prospects fall.

Perhaps McCain could switch to that party he belongs in and take Romney and Gulliani with him?

The Borg doesn't have ballot access yet.
And they were right.
I meant as in they were predicting the Dean Machine would flatten
him and he wouldn't have a chance at the nomination.
Cesar,
Sorry, I was just making a cheap zombie joke at Kerry's expense. I
caught your point and rather agree. McCain could do well in the
primary. It all depends on how freaked out the country is at
Mormons. Heck, it's the one reason you can't entirely count out
even a Paul surge. Giuliani can be discounted as too otherworldly
for most GOPers, I think.
Pro-
The best we can hope for for Paul is getting enough support in the
primaries to get him a prime time speech at the convention.
P.L., I thought you were making a cheap Kerry joke at the
expense of zombies. Oh well...
McCain won't do well in the primaries. He'll self-destruct right
out there in broad daylight for everyone to see sooner or later,
and my money's on sooner.
Thank goodness. Because McCain is the only candidate in the world that is lousy. Once McCain is gone, Reason will have finally won!!!
Once Macain is out of the race, Reason can devote more effort to exposing Rudy Giuliani, Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson. But let's celebrate every little victory.
Whew. For a second there I thought it said John
McClane's campaign was tanking. But that couldn't
be.
McClane '08. YIPPEE KI-YAY!!!
Reason can devote more effort to exposing Rudy Giuliani,
Mitt Romney and Fred Thompson.
Because the only thing standing between America and libertarian
paradise is the Republican Presidential slate.

Well, once they get get through them, the Reason writers can start
on any Blue candidates who wax enthusiastic about "enhanced
interrogation techniques" and any of the rest of the egregious
morass the Reds have lead us into since late 2001.
