To give some comparison and contrast to the shrinking cable news ratings noted below, here's some new figures regarding blog readership, authorship, and commenting from the Pew Internet and American Life Project. From a ComputerWorld account:
Blog readership jumped 58 percent between February and November and included 32 million U.S. citizens in 2004. More than 8 million U.S. citizens have created a Web-based diary, and one in 10, or around 14 million U.S. Internet users, has contributed thoughts or comments to a blog.

A good comment actually takes thoughts away from a blog, far from contributing one.
Fyodor--Yes, that could have been the joke as well, but I chose to play with the idea of commenters as one in ten Americans.
See, you are one OF 14 million, but one IN 10 American internet users...I'll shut up now....
I believe the same survey found that more than half of Americans have no idea what a blog is, so the revolution is still coming.
Those Americans probably prefer to have their news spoon-fed to
them. These are probably the same assholes they poll for
opinions.
This is how I see polls when they start asking our opinions:
Is Bush doing a good job?
Yes - 35%
No - 20%
This is a stupid, pointless, simplistic question - 45%
Yes, but how many of them are really Gary
Gunnells?
I'll let you know when I stop laughing!!!!!
