White House Acknowledges Marijuana Petitions Without Budging on Policy
The White House says "we're in the midst of a serious national conversation" about marijuana but doesn't say it will support legalization.
Instead, the director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy -- responding to three petitions seeking legalization -- pointed to recent remarks by President Obama signaling he thinks legalization goes too far.
