Government officials say a major auto tunnel that was flooded by Superstorm Sandy and is one of New York City's last closed thoroughfares will soon reopen to traffic.

The two officials say Gov. Andrew Cuomo will make the announcement about the former Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel on Tuesday afternoon. The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because the official announcement was hours away.
