Dog-Killing Officer Resigns as Investigation Nears End
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- A Flagstaff police officer who used his baton, boot and a cable to kill an injured dog in August has resigned.
Officials with the Flagstaff Police Dept. were close to completing their final investigation of the incident involving Corporal John Tewes that occurred on Aug. 19, 2012. The Department was in the process of determining final action when Cpl. Tewes resigned on Friday.
It was previously reported that officials with the Navajo County Attorney's Office said there was insufficient evidence to pursue prosecution in the case of the Corporal John Tewes.
