Pakistan's military says the top U.S. and NATO commander in Afghanistan is scheduled to visit to hold discussions with the country's army chief.

The military statement says Gen. John Allen's meeting Thursday with Gen. Ashfaq Parvez Kayani will partly focus on ways to improve coordination with forces on either side of the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
