Brickbat: Need to Know
Mohave County Supervisor Tom Sockwell and County Public Information Director Darryle Purcell have been circulating “folders containing compromising information on a private citizen,” according to local media. The Daily News reports the individual is a consultant to the campaign of Hildy Angius, Sockwell’s opponent in the Republican primary. “Purcell would not respond to questions as to why he, as a county employee, was assisting Sockwell in his re-election campaign,” the newspaper reported.

Probably. I've only ever personally dealt with city managers, since I haven't lived in any of the states with County Supervisors.
All of the city managers I've known were very competent (if not exactly smart). Then again the weren't elected, so I guess that might have something to do with it.

I want to know what this guy supposedly did. Why couldn't this GOP catfight have happened in Massholia, Chicago or NYC? None of the papers in those areas would have any reservations about printing the seamy details of this man's life.

Town managers and County Executives are the absolute worst dictators in the whole of the USA. No joke. Full Stop. They are tyrants that would make Stalin blush. If you ever want to lose faith in our system of government go sit in on three city council meetings (preferably in a city with a Council/Manager form of government but in a pinch any will do). The report back after you have cleaned yourself up from all the puking.
