Hardy YouTube citizen Snicker75 has cut together all
of Rep. Ron Paul's answers from Tavis Smiley's All American
Presidential Forum.
The sound's a little off, which heightens the surreal imagery of
Rep. Paul being ovated by a mostly-black audience. Like I wrote
last night Paul's biggest burst of applause came when he called for
an end to the drug war. But I'm wondering how representative this
crowd was. It was black Democratic political
leaders, remember, who gave us the sentencing disparity between
crack and cocaine.

RON PAUL '08
Kick ass!
It was black Democratic political leaders, remember, who gave
us the sentencing disparity between crack and cocaine.
The disparity between black Americans and black leaders is a long
running story that needs more attention.

That sounds really dirty. And is "ovated" really a word? Just
curious.
Mark my words: When the polling is done, Ron Paul will have the highest amount of black support for a GOP candidate in decades.
The disparity between black Americans and black leaders is a
long running story that needs more attention.
See school vouchers/charter schools.
I'm not sure the audience was mostly black. There were certainly more black people at this debate than all the other Republican debates, but there was still a ton of white people in the room.
"That sounds really dirty. And is "ovated" really a word? Just
curious."
Well, "ovate" is "shaped like an egg." So yes, it would indeed be
surreal imagery. With clapping.
surreal imagery with the clap.
indeed.
Oh hay - Edward - if you haven't gone, can I have your Red
Swingline Stapler?
I know he won't come close to winning the nomination, but the more I hear Ron Paul speak, the more I regret that my state has a meaningless primary.
Most black people look at the drug war as unfairly targeting them and with good reason. I am not sure they would support legalization, but they sure as hell would support calling off the dogs.
Wow, he totally dominated that debate! They didn't even bother asking questions of any of the other candidates!
Yeah, way better than hearing Russert ask the same question 10
times in a row:
Russert: Do you pledge to bring the troops home
from Iraq by the end of your first term?
Hillary et al: I can't predict the future,
jackass. Get a life.*
*I wish
I'm glad people are doing the Ron Paul-only edits. I'm already
tired of the empty rhetoric of campaigning for 2.5 years.
I sure hope the long season is an anomaly and not a norm.
"I know he won't come close to winning the nomination"
And that attitude is why. Have faith and stop acting like a fucking
crybaby loser cheerleader for the MSM's "Ron Paul can't win"
meme.
WHAA! WHAA! Ron Paul won't win!! BUT HE SURE MAKES ME FEEL GOOD!!!
WHAA!! WHAAA!!!
News Flash: Ron Paul is going to win NH, so start looking up
recipes so you can prepare your own crow.
"And that attitude is why. Have faith and stop acting like a
fucking crybaby loser cheerleader for the MSM's "Ron Paul can't
win" meme."
no kidding. do you realize how stupid you sound, repeating that
over and over. if it's so damn obvious, then why do people insist
on pointing it out every time ron paul is mentioned. damn it's
annoying.
Actually, all of the candidates got asked the same questions and
had equal time to answer (depsite Keyes refusing to shut up when
his time was up!), which was refreshing.
The audience was mixed. I know I saw Bill Moyers and Kermit, er,
Newt Gingrich in the crowd pans. Thought I saw Lousi Gosset Jr too,
but that might have been a mistake on my part.
On a slightly unrelated issue:
The
latest from Rudy. Warning: Pathetic and may cause nausea.
I dunno, he sounded a little panicked and rushed at times. I like seeing him getting ovated, though.
"The latest from Rudy. Warning: Pathetic and may cause
nausea."
Thanks.... I'm glad my dog is here to eat my vomit.
I can't handle this loony bin any longer. You guys won't have Edward to kick around anymore.
"Wo ist Dondero?"
1st Guess: Getting Drunk
2nd Guess: Drunk and getting banned from a website
3rd Guess: Under Scoop and Dump's desk
4th Guess: Campaigning in TX's 14th district, lawl.
"The latest from Rudy. Warning: Pathetic and may cause
nausea."
yep, nausea. the average person must realize that he is a phony
scumbag...right? I mean, people, in general, aren't that
stupid...right? g-d help us!
"I mean, people, in general, aren't that stupid...right?"
Wrong. They are even stupider.
I dunno, he sounded a little panicked and rushed at times. I
like seeing him getting ovated, though.
He always does. He's got 45 big-ticket topics he wants to talk
about, and most of them are intertwined with his overall
philosophy. Black economic disparity? Well, we've got crap tax
laws, our money is debased by the Fed, federal interference with
medicine makes it expensive, drug war, war in Iraq, interventionist
foreign policy, minimum wage laws... all this works against blacks
and whites alike, I want to get rid of it.
Repeat for basically every other question. It's tedious sometimes,
but that's what the philosophy dictates.
It was black Democratic political leaders, remember, who
gave us the sentencing disparity between crack and
cocaine.

Most people forget that it takes dogs to make something illegal.
It's like the joke, "I'm from the government. I'm here to help
you."
Probably only we here get that. Others just smile politely.
Of the candidates who spoke about the "drug problem" only Congressman Paul laid it out: the war on drugs has not worked. Prohibition did not work in the 1920s-30s and the ban on drugs is not working today. He made the telling link between our crowded prisons and would release all drug offenders (provided there was no violence involved). This would be a godsend, esp to every pot smoker who fears jail time.
Today the dollar fell to an alltime low. Ron Paul is the only candidate addressing this. Are the others all blind?
RON PAUL boldly asserted that the Federal government cannot be
trusted with the Death Penalty. He believes, and should have added,
that the States should be left perfectly free to use or disregard
the death penalty.
LIBERTY MUST SURVIVE!!
RON PAUL 2008!!

Does intellectual laziness count as stupidity? Not that I haven't
been guilty, but I could definitely point the finger at many of my
fellow Americans on that one.
Regarding the whereabouts of Dondero:
He's busy at his blog peddling stories of Paul campaign dirty
tricks from the good old days.
Here are some of the evil "aggressive" campaign tactics he accuses
Paul of using:
1. Having supporters wave signs on street corners. This made the
other primary candidate feel threatened.
2. Responding to the accusation that Paul was anti-Semitic by
sending the Jewish Dondero to a guy's press conference to announce
that he was a Jewish aide to Paul and would vouch for the fact that
he was not an anti-Semite. This apparently was a dirty trick due to
excessive truth.
Dondero is a giant pinhead.
Monday the Ron Paul campaign sent an e-mail requesting his
supporters donate $500,000 before 9/30. By Wednesday they claimed
to be receiving online contributions at the rate of $10,000 per
hour, and bumped the goal to a million.
Being skeptical, I took a periodic peek at the homepage:

2:30 725280
2:50 728210
3:30 735729
4:30 743593
4:40 744260
Say what you will about the long shot. But I don't think Ron Paul's
run or its impact have peaked yet.
Fluffy,
Siccing DONDEROOOOOOOOO on anyone goes down as a dirty trick in my
book.
Ruthless wrote: Most people forget that it takes dogs to make

Gotta chime in on this one, because it resonates with one of my big
peeves in modern political rhetoric, which even those in favor of
eliminating drug laws have been entrapped by: the debate is framed
as whether or not to "legalize" drugs.
I'll leave out a rant the convoluted memetic implications of that
phrasing, because it can all be summed up by comparing to the term
I prefer: "decriminalize."
Lief Clennon,
"Decriminalize" already has a specific meaning in the context of
drug policy. It is used to signify support for eliminating criminal
laws against drug possession but retaining civil penalties.
"Legalize" in constrast typically signifies the elimination of
legal penalties in such a way that personal usage would be
practical without having to worry about incurring any.
goddammit [R]on[,] shut up about immigration, you sound like
a jackass.
Just to clarify, Ron is NOT against immigration, just illegal
immigration. However, he has mentioned before (for example, during
the S.C. debates) that immigration under a FREE MARKET is
desirable. His stance is to protect the borders, but at the same
time make it easier for workers to come to the US legally. Right
now, getting a US work visa is like pulling your own teeth with a
monkey wrench.
EVERYONE HEAR THE "RON PAUL!" CHANT AFTER THE DEBATE?
PRETTY SOON THE CORPORATE ELITIST MEDIA (WHOM ALL THE FRONT RUNNER
REPRESENT) WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO IGNORE US!

Who believes this BS!!
One simple reason why the Corporate controlled puppets didn't make
it on PBS.. because it's "Public" broadcasting, NOT "Corporate"
BS'ing.
They were AFRAID.. PERIOD.
Afraid of what?
An actually unbiased even playing field with RON PAUL.
It's all fine and dandy when Paul is given a fraction of the air
time, with every question carefully contrived to attack his
credibility.
But they all coward in fear when they're confronted with having to
fend for themselves.
And we are to believe that these cowards have what it takes to lead
this country? *LAUGH*

At least Dr. Paul (and the viewers) didn't have to suffer through
more of Il Duce's insufferable cackling every time Paul opened his
mouth.
As a business owner I'm very proud of Ron's stand on most every issue. A group of us are driving from SC and VA to help in NH. We are crusing down the highway as I post and are about three hrs from NH. Our meet up groups have a combined total of just over 300 and about 15 of us are helping this weekend. Our nation needs Ron Paul as our President
OK, so I still won't be voting (I never do), but it's really nice to see a presidential candidate attacking the War on Drugs. Nice like a beautiful flamingo carrying a beautiful painting in front of a beautiful sunset. Plus you're drunk.
Perhaps continued ovating will result in an upturn at the
polls.
Sorry. Had to.
You're telling me that ALL four ""Front Runners"" couldn't

And, to bring up an entirely unrelated item, it has been touted
here as one of the best candidate's forums so far.

Someone who doesn't want to lose his job - You know what would make a good story? Something about a clown who makes people happy, but inside he's real sad. Also, he has severe diarrhea. Also, his name is Edward.
RON PAUL is the MAN.
And people like "edward" are shitting their collective diaper.
Losers who deride Dr.Paul are obviously paid shills combing the net
trying to sway public opinion. Ron Paul is anti-CFR, positive,
inspiring and successful. This "edward" and his ilk are negative
mainstream lowlifes.

Edward, could you please at least elucidate why you feel so
negatively towards Paul?
Edward, could you please at least elucidate why you feel so
negatively towards Paul?
Could we have a vote on this motion before it's carried out?
I thought Edward said he was going to leave and not post any
longer. That is my vote.
I think Ron is a bit more libertarian when it comes to immigration
but based on the entitlement programs, he can't advocate such an
approach. He has made a few hints to that but hasn't made it
official due to the problems we are having now. I am all for open
borders but we need to get rid of all the social welfare programs
and the minimum wage. Only then can we open up completely. Then
people will come only if they want to work and contribute rather
than suck our blood.
Inflection is a lost art in English.
there's a chinese vd joke in there, trying to get out.
draft drew carey for president. only by means of a famous
professional comedian as a representative will libertarians ever
get taken seriously.
Ron Paul. I'm leaving the USA if he doesn't win.
Inflation is OUT OF CONTROL.
I have a question. What do you think RP could actually do if he
was elected president? I'm imagining he could pull the troops out
of Iraq. But could he really end the War on Drugs? Could he shut
down the DEA? Could he really close down the Department of
Education as he said he wanted to recently?
Would he really have the powers to follow through on these
things?
Simon,
the executive branch has a lot of discretion in spending because
most of the laws say things like "Here's $10 billion to stop
illegal drug use." So the president, could just take the money and
refuse to spend it or throw it towards something only marginally
related to what congress really wanted. Then congress would have to
pass a bill being real specific about what they wanted the
executive branch to do, which they might not be able to do.
So long story short, it depends on what congress actually said in
the bill authorizing whatever program you're talking about getting
rid of but in most cases, yes, he probably does have the power to
at least screw thing up a lot.
Ron Paul. I'm leaving the USA if he doesn't win.
Well, if you don't like it, you can just... oh, never mind.
Please PLEASE watch those ballot boxes and polling stations and GET RID OF electronic voting machinary where it exists let's give reality a chance!
How Bad is the Commodities Price Index, the true measure of
inflation?
Sept 27 2007
CPI = 216.5
http://www.economist.com/images/20070929/TAB3.gif
Sept 24 2005
CPI = 131.8
http://www.economist.com/images/20050924/TAB3.gif
It was 100 in the year 2000.
Ron Paul has been vocal about this horrible inflation since at
least 1983:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hMeNnbSqkk
You are being paid in an inflating currency. Please think about how
that impacts you.
Andronoid,
Thanks for the explanation. It's incredible to think that the end
of the drug war is possibly so close at hand, just a lot of votes
away... By the way Ron's fundraiser just went through the one
million mark. I wish I could donate but I'm not a US citizen.
Don't wonder at the applause. Black spammers are just as bad as
white spammers! The Ron Paul spammers are everywhere!
They spam Youtube, MySpace, Facebook, Google, Blogger; they spam
straw polls and rallies from sea to shining sea (plus Alaska and
Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Virgin islands)... and now they
are spamming Ron Paul's campaign funds! Gahhh!!!
The man humbly asked for donations to top $500,000.00 in 7 days,
yet received it in 3 days. The bar was raised to $1,000,000.00 and
with one day to go, has exceeded that by several thousand
dollars.
Yes, let's keep spamming for Ron Paul.
I was at the Morgan State debate. The notion that it was a "mostly black audience" is wrong. There was a good mix.
