Erica: Actually, the analogy is pretty close to the mark. The Nazis awarded medals to women who had children, with the "bigger" awards, including cash incentives, to those who had the most. The program had interesting consequences. After one Hitler Youth rally, thousands of girls came home pregnant. The Nazi party rigidly segregated the sexes at rallies after that.

Why can't we at least do this like ag subsidies? I propose cash
for sterilization. I'm not a ZPG kinda guy, I just think doing it
the other way around is going to cause stupid people to breed even
more. And then we'll just get more demand for more entitlement
programs.
I know we need babies to keep the current entitlement programs
running. But perhaps we could give people an up-front payment in

Ick. I'm pretty certain that "the offwhites are outbreeding us"
has the worst pedigree of any idea in Western History. (For an
interesting take on this, read "The Idea of Decline in Western
History" by Arthur Herman.) It would be worthwhile to have a sane
discussion of why birthrates in some European countries are so low,
including the possibility that no one really cares, but to put it
like this guy did, sheesh. The only things that speech lacked were
torches, flags, and a military band playing something from
Wagner.
I'm going to pour a beer and sit near my kitchen window and watch
the three baby wrens on my back porch to get this out of my head.

1. Looking at John Gibson scares me.
2. I think we ought to do all we can to encourage multi-racial
babymaking - I'd love to see a completely multihued America, like
Brazil (without the same old "lighter is better" prejudice, which
is prevalent in Brazil as well). I think many of our problems would
go away if we were all mixed to the point that no one could
determine your racial ancestry just by looking at you. And it would
spare my descendants the curse of my
almost-as-melanin-free-as-Gibson's,
burst-into-flames-after-10-minutes-in-the-sun skin. I will
encourage my daughter in this direction, if she does not marry the
kid she currently insists she's going to marry (they're 4).
I would be happy to help out were I not 1) already married and more
importantly 2) no longer conception-enabled.

I have read the THE BELL CURVE awhile back and do not recall the
implication being that diversity is responsible for poverty.
Your suggestion gleaned from the title IQ AND THE WEALTH OF NATIONS
seems to be that IQ is a better predictor of a nation's wealth than
lack of diversity.
By the by: Ashkenazi jews sure don't have an IQ problem
either...their population mean being something like 115.
It's a shame those books have to be a racist tool but I guess if

I'm trying to figure out an algorithm to predict which words
idiot trolls will write in all caps. So far the rules are:
1)any official government program or document (e.g. SCHOOLS!
AMERICA! CONSTITUTION! WELFARE!)
2)book titles (which, according to the MLA, should be underlined,
not SHOUTED)
3)The names of colors (tentative)
Any other suggestions? Maybe we could write a program to make troll
posts automatically, thus removing the demand for real trolls in
the marketplace.

On a more substantive (and less plaintive) note, to "wondering" -
that is not a theory I'm familiar with (there are something like
200 different reasons adduced for the fall), but I'm doubtful of
this one - the enormous influx of captured slave-labour was a
feature of the late Republic rather than the Empire. A good summary
of the dominant theories can be found in Prof Michael Grant's "The
Fall of the Roman Empire".

ones responsible for perpetuating the attitudes that lead some
multi-racial individuals to have "identity problems." So people
like YOU perpetuate a problem and then step back and imply that
people who reproduce interracially are harming their kids. At least
in this instance, you didn't try to claim any faux concern for the
poor, confused multi-racial kids. It's not saying much for ya
though.

I don't buy it. Trained slaves are a valuable commodity; only an
idiot is going to work them to death, especially when it becomes
clear that there's no place else for them to come from. The
traditional reasons based on expansion into new areas that came too
far and too fast for assimilation and the demographic problems
created by refugees fleeing widespread crop failure and the
expansion of Central Asian tribes into Eastern Europe are far more
plausable explanations.

OK, this post is sort-of on-topic. And late. And, I have only
skimmed the 115 or so posts on this thread so maybe someone has
said this already. And, just so you know, I will be playing Devil's
Advocate here: if "white"* people become a minority, doesn't that
mean that "white"* persons will be able to avail themselves of the
entitlements that "white"* people complain are always given away to
minorities? If "white"* people become a minority, then they can be
considered eligible for the welfare, tuition, and healthcare
benefits that the government doles out to minorities on a regular
basis. Right?
(the * next to "white" is there because I don't believe in the
concept of "race." I believe in ethnicity, and culture, but not
"race" because in my mind that implies differences in type of human
that goes beyond skin color - I believe in the inherent
intelligence and capacity of HUMANS as a species, not "levels" of
such deteremined by geographic descendence or skin color, etc. I am
often classified as "white" but that is just what my features say:
I am actually descended from Czec, Polish, Spanish, German, and
Cherokee peoples. How does "Caucasian/white" acurately describe me?
I hate those questions that ask you to self-identify for racial
categorization.)
So, in the context of the original FA, am I fit or unfit for
breeding? How much genetic dilution is appropriate for a child born
to a "white" person before they are considered appropriately
descended from white Europeans? And I say that (white Europeans)
because there are plenty of Italian, Spanish, and French (not to
mention southeastern Europeans) descended from swarthy people who
might otherwise be considered, for lack of a better word,
"contaminated" by the genes of darker skinned and darker haired
people.
sorry to harp on such a point, but I get very, very bothered by
discussions of this sort. I get upset thinking that in the future,
mixed race or "inferior race" persons will not be born, simply
because a man like my white, French-Canadian, Spanish, and German
descended father would not be allowed to reproduce with a woman
like my Eastern European and Cherokee descended mother, simply
because they would produce "mud-colored" and therefore non-white
children. Or perhaps, since my mom's heritage is "Native American"
vs. "Mexican" she gets a free pass. I have never understood what
difference a river makes.

If Gibson had just made statements that were "consistent with the
basic tenents of life and biology," I doubt we'd be making fun of
him. We're making fun of him because his statements are consistent
with those of white supremacists. Gibson obviously isn't arguing
that the human race as a whole is in danger of extinction because
of a low birthrate. He's arguing that there will be too many of
"those people" if "whites" don't start having more children.

So it's the fact that I'm 1/16 Cherokee that caused me to be
picked on and rejected in High School? I thought it was that I was
a geek, but this makes a lot of sense. I just wonder how I sensed

Also I'd be willing to help make white babies and all, but I guess
that I wouldn't make the cut being multi-ethnic and all. I'd just
add to the problem. And I probably shouldn't ever have children
because they'd never be accepted and have huge psychological

For some reason I recall hearing a few years ago that there were
far more illegal aliens from Canada and the British Isles than most
people were aware of.
To the extent that people are aware of it they don't find it that
alarming since for the most part those people look and, in the case
of Canadians (almost), sound like us.

Isaac Bartram, that explains why the population of Canada is only
32 million. The other hundred million are illegal immigrants to the

I know I am late to the party... I am white white white, from a whiter-than-white- Scots-Irish family. Aside from a select few of us we are mostly white trash scum and have terrible history of drunkeness, violence and crime. I don't want my genetic code passed along -- my neice just popped one out (no one knows which redneck the father is) and I shudder to think. Whiteys got nothin' over the brownies aside from having a larger percentage of 'em who are rich. But that comes from historical heritage rather than genetic code.
