WSJ Puts a Hurtin' On Kurt
Prissy but amusing effort by Nancy DeWolf Smith to link Kurt Kobain's antisocial angst with hardcore perversity and homicidal rage. There's some pretty lurid stuff in Kurt's diary—"I like to make incisions into the belly of infants then [expletive deleted] the incisions until the child dies," reads one entry that makes you suspect little Frances Bean may have gotten off lucky. There are also some pretty funny examples of Neil Strauss types (including Neil Strauss himself) trying to whitewash the content. But really, who's surprised? I watched the new Nirvana home video recently and what is most striking is what a completely banal, disagreeable dickhead Kobain was. It's becoming more clear every day that Dave Grohl was the real genius in that threesome.

UnJustin- you hit the nail right on the head. The pompus ass will never know what it is like to have his life under a microscope for the rest of his life. How would you like if you were something you did not want to be but could nothing about it.......you would probably be pretty off yourself. You probably are, but just one of the stupid crazies that thinks you're not. You should quit as an analyst because you're shitty at it, and maybe you should look up more facts than just the man's diary. By the way the dairy could have been altered, you would never know. You should check out his suicide letter, than reanalyze. Most of all before analyzing other people, analyze yourself first. Kurt Kobain ROCKED HARDCORE! If you dont appreciate him,you have no right to be here and dis him! he was the greatest out of The three In Nirvana, Althought Everyone in Nirvana was great, he rocked the most. I miss him deeply and wish him still alive. R.I.P Kurt! He's so great. Who agrees?

Kurt made great music. If what we read is true, he killed himself. Little Francis Bean will never get to know her dad. Doesn't matter if he was a poet, a superstar, the voice of rock, whatever. Every celebrity today will produce a product that is equally as significant as that of those in the 16th century (if they are fortunate). The real tragedy is Francis' loss.
