Fist of Etiquette|4.30.10 @ 7:07AM|

Not bad. Not bad at all.

|4.30.10 @ 9:37AM|

What FOE said.

Untermensch|4.30.10 @ 7:18AM|

Why can't we have Peter Bagge back? I need a shirt that says “I came to Reason looking for Peter Bagge, and all I got was a stupid Henry Payne.”

anarch|4.30.10 @ 7:29AM|

Would it also work if he were facing Right instead of Left?

ed|4.30.10 @ 7:33AM|

B+ for use of the word "cretin."
Extra credit for truthfully portraying Obama as a cudgel-wielding liar.

ed|4.30.10 @ 7:35AM|

And if the driver is Barney Frank in drag, a gold star.

Wood|5.1.10 @ 12:55PM|

And if the driver is Barney Frank in drag, a gold star.

It almost certainly is: check out those man-boobs, that black lipstick, and the sadomasochistic fake police uniform; that's him, all right.

|4.30.10 @ 8:09AM|

I actually laughed. If Obama doesn't get defeated in 2012, Republicans have only themselves to blame.

Barack Obama|4.30.10 @ 8:37AM|

If you don't like the way I govern, stay off the sidewalk!

|4.30.10 @ 9:25AM|

+1

|4.30.10 @ 8:43AM|

I'm a bit confused on this subject. I heard yesterday that criminal charges are going to be brought against Goldman Sachs, at the SEC's instigation.

But Obama et al are claiming that the financial meltdown occurred because the financial markets are unregulated.

Both cannot be true.

Obama|4.30.10 @ 8:46AM|

Keep that to yourself, mister.

wtp|4.30.10 @ 9:30AM|

They claim to be investigating criminal charges. Considering how weak the civil case is, it seems this is just a way to keep this in the news to bolster their regulatory plan.

Valerie Jarrett|4.30.10 @ 9:36AM|

Ya' think?

|4.30.10 @ 9:40AM|

As near as I can tell, Goldman Sachs sold assets that they believed were overvalued to people who believed they were either correctly or undervalued.

If that's criminal, every financial transaction is.

|4.30.10 @ 11:28AM|

I'd love to throw that SOB that sold me Enron shares in jail. Greedy SOB took advantage of me.

|4.30.10 @ 10:55AM|

Well, I figured that. I'm just trying to reconcile that with the wild claims that the financial sector is some sort of unregulated Wild West.

|4.30.10 @ 2:28PM|

Tony explained this earlier this week: all failures of regulation prove that we don't have enough regulation, so the answer is more regulation. It's all very simple, really.

And yes, good cartoon this week. Extra points for the vintage Highway Patrol-era cop car.

Anomalous|4.30.10 @ 8:49AM|

I like the mid-1950s cop car.

Xeones|4.30.10 @ 8:59AM|

It tells a truth, but as usual, only the "Friday" part of "Friday Funnies" is factual.

Ghost of Schrödinger's cat|4.30.10 @ 9:05AM|

Are you even sure it was drawn on Friday?

|4.30.10 @ 9:07AM|

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Xeones|4.30.10 @ 9:14AM|

Are you even sure it was drawn on Friday?

Ooh. Good point. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO BELIEVE ANYMORE

Keyser Soze|4.30.10 @ 9:17AM|

It's funny because it's true...

|4.30.10 @ 9:18AM|

Payneful.

Balls|4.30.10 @ 2:37PM|

Fuck Yeah!

|4.30.10 @ 9:29AM|

Goldman Sachs, in the Library, with a solid gold spork.

Ska|4.30.10 @ 9:31AM|

It looked like an oversized coke spoon to me.

Jimmy 'Crack' Corn|4.30.10 @ 1:21PM|

+5 on both of these

Ska|4.30.10 @ 9:30AM|

Is the reason girl available for a round of golf later? I'd like to show her my putts.

St. V|4.30.10 @ 5:21PM|

If all you have to show is your short game, I don't think you stand a chance.

creech|4.30.10 @ 9:33AM|

Much better than anything the Pulitizer Prize winning Tony Auth does for the Inquirer.

The Government’s Hunt for the REAL Crooks | Von Aldo links to this page. Here’s an excerpt:

…eredRep.com. He is also a devotee of the Austrian School of Economics leading lights Ludwig von Mises and Friedrich von Hayek. The Government’s Hunt for the REAL Crooks David Geracioti April 30th, 2010 Reason magazine, one of my favorite magazines, has an excellent cartoon today depicting where we should really place much of the blame for the credit/housing bubble of the Naughties. Hint: It wasn’t just greedy Wall…

Enyap|4.30.10 @ 10:11AM|

Obama hunt for the real crooks has about as much legitimacy as OJ hunt for the real killer.

Jimmy 'Crack' Corn|4.30.10 @ 1:22PM|

MSA|4.30.10 @ 10:30AM|

It's almost cute how Obama is too stupid to know Goldman will write the news regs to benefit Goldman.

|4.30.10 @ 10:34AM|

What makes you think he doesn't know? They were his single biggest backer in "08.

Sean W. Malone|4.30.10 @ 11:02AM|

2nd biggest... Behind UCLA.

I used to think he was shrewd but cynical but have realized that he is just a dolt. Would love to see those Occidental College transcripts.

Etienne |4.30.10 @ 11:30AM|

Who's being naive now Kate?

Etienne |4.30.10 @ 11:37AM|

"Oh. Who's being naive, Kay? "
sorry

O.J. Simpson|4.30.10 @ 10:31AM|

I'll help, even though I'm still looking for the real murderers of my bitch-ass ex-wife and her lover.

economist|4.30.10 @ 1:15PM|

I think Fannie Mae had accomplices. That's why I have a warrant for Alan Greenspan.

Jimmy 'Crack' Corn|4.30.10 @ 1:24PM|

Good Friday Funny today, and even better posts.

Botox Porcupine|4.30.10 @ 1:57PM|

Excellent.

Oh, and racist.

wingnutx|4.30.10 @ 2:02PM|

This is the best friday comic that I can remember.

Then again, I've managed to block most of them from memory.

Barney Frank|4.30.10 @ 10:13PM|

Wasn't me.

The Libertarian Guy|4.30.10 @ 10:21PM|

Come on, people... it's easy to find crooks. Tune in C-SPAN, you'll see hundreds of 'em.

Mr. FIFY|4.30.10 @ 10:25PM|

Too obvious. Besides, you'll never convince the Team Red/Team Blue worshipers.

Unlike the First Amendment, which limited the actions of Congress and by extension had to be incorporated, the Second Amendment stated that RKBA was not to be infringed, and lacked detail as to by whom, and therefore applied to all government. By its very language it was already applicable to the states!
