White Powders in Super Bowl Scare Likely Corn Starch

Multiple hotels and Rudy Giuliani's office in New York received envelopes containing an unknown substance

White powder scares were reported Friday at at least five New Jersey hotels near the site of the Super Bowl, and a letter containing a suspicious powder was addressed to Rudolph Giuliani and sent to the former mayor's Midtown office.

The FBI and local law enforcement agencies were investigating, but preliminary testing showed corn starch was likely the substance involved in the New Jersey incidents, according to The Bergen Record.
