Majority of Newark Charters Sign Up For School District's "Universal Enrollment" Plan

District wants to centralize applications for charter and public schools in the city

Fifteen charter schools said yes, five have declined and one has yet to decide whether join the effort to create one application for enrollment in Newark's public and charter schools, officials said yesterday.

In all, 70 percent of the city's charter schools have agreed to participate in the universal enrollment plan.
