Obamacare Site To Go Offline For "Extended Maintenance" Late Saturday

(Reuters) - The glitch-ridden website used to sign up for insurance under President Barack Obama's healthcare law will be down for "extended maintenance" overnight on Saturday, the Department of Health and Human Services said.

The website has been plagued by technology problems and has not worked reliably since its launch on October 1, embarrassing the administration and providing ammunition for Republicans seeking to roll back the law known as Obamacare.

    "Extended"?
Like maybe a year or two?

It seems short sighted to only close it down for 12 hours overnight. They should have given the programmers the whole weekend. A 60 hour shutdown from 7pm Friday night to 7am Monday morning would have given the programmers far more time to work on the system.
