Terrorists in Deadly Nigerian College Attack Mistaken for Soldiers

At least 40 killed by Boko Harram

The Boko Haram terrorists who massacred more than 40 students in a Nigerian college dormitory were in military uniforms and were mistaken at first for soldiers, survivors have revealed.

When men in soldiers' uniform arrived at the agricultural college in northern Nigeria, Musa Bade, a teacher, was relieved.

The previous week a school 10 miles away in Buni Yadi had been attacked, with three dead, and Mr Bade supposed that now, at last, protection had arrived. But he was mistaken: what was about to unfold was a massacre that was savage even by the standards of Boko Haram, the extremist Islamist group that has brought terror to northern Nigeria.

"The attackers came in two Hilux (all-terrain) vans and seven motorcycles around 1:30am. They just opened fire indiscriminately on students in their hostels.
