A student at St. Charles Community College is in jail after she allegedly tweeted that she was going to kill someone on the college staff.

Emily Kaitlin Cole, 18, of the 100 block of Savannah Circle in O'Fallon, Mo., is charged with a misdemeanor: peace disturbance or, in the alternative, making a terrorist threat.

According to authorities, Cole was in the college's registration office Tuesday afternoon when she became frustrated and tweeted that she was going to kill someone and "if you see me on the news, don't be surprised."

The college's police chief, Bob Ronkoski, said that someone monitoring tweets on campus reported the comment to the police department, and Cole was taken into custody.
