New York State Legislature Considers Bill to Make Annoying Police a Crime

A bill currently making its way through the State Legislature would make it a crime to annoy a police officer, a move that could have far reaching consequences.

The State Senate passed the bill Wednesday that makes it felony to "harass, annoy, threaten or alarm" an on duty police officer by subjecting them to any physical contact.

    This sounds like an Onion piece. If it's true, I need to become a police officer so that I can arrest anyone who annoys me while I'm on duty. I'll stay on duty all the time. Oh, wait, if NY is anything like CT, I won't have a chance of getting into the force, what with my I.Q. being well above the acceptable average.
