Oscar Pistorius Granted Bail
Will stand trial for the murder of his girlfriend
JOHANNESBURG, South Africa—Oscar Pistorius will be released on bail while awaiting trial in the shooting death of his girlfriend, a South African magistrate ruled Friday.
On the fourth day of the bail hearing, magistrate Desmond Nair heard final arguments before ruling in favor of the defense. Pistorius, an Olympic and Paralympic track star, is charged with premeditated murder in the death of Reeva Steenkamp.
