Violence, Intimidation Leads Argentina Team to Withdraw From Copa Sudamericana Final Before Second Quarter

Sao Paulo was awarded the Copa Sudamericana title on Wednesday after violent scenes on and off the pitch prompted Argentine club Tigre to refuse to play the second half of the second leg of the final played in the nation set to host the World Cup in less than two years.

Sao Paulo was awarded the title when Tigre refused to take the field for the second half of Wednesday's second leg of the final. Sao Paulo was leading 2-0, with the first leg having ended scoreless.
