Man Freed After 30 Years Because Police Hid Exonerating Evidence

Cops also threatened him to extort a confession

A St Louis man is out of prison after 30 years behind bars because a judge threw out his conviction in the brutal rape and murder of a young woman.

George Allen, 56, was freed by Cole County Circuit Judge Daniel Green on Wednesday because police hid evidence that could have exonerated him at his trial and used threats to force his confession.

Mr Allen had lunch at the Blueberry Hill diner, his first meal outside of prison since 1983 and went to his mother's home to take a hot bath and a change of clothes.
