Charter School Absolves Self of Testing Misconduct Charges

School district's own investigation to continue

MISSION VIEJO – A kindergarten-through-eighth-grade charter school accused of misconduct during state standardized testing has absolved itself of wrongdoing after an internal investigation, even as the Capistrano Unified School District continues to probe reports of testing violations.

Oxford Preparatory Academy in Mission Viejo issued a statement Thursday proclaiming that an investigation by its law firm found "no evidence of any wrongdoing" during administration of the Standardized Testing and Reporting exams in spring 2012.

In the same statement, Oxford noted that those who had made the misconduct accusations were "still anonymous" to Oxford.

Oxford posted a near-perfect Academic Performance Index score in its first year of operation – 993 out of 1,000.
