Independent Scotland Couldn’t Use the Pound, Says UK
George Osborne has warned an independent Scotland could not keep the pound as its currency without the remainder of the UK approving its tax and spending levels.
The Chancellor said the “remorseless logic” of the eurozone crisis was the difficultly in separate countries sharing a currency without “greater fiscal and political integration”.
