Obama: From Rock Star to Remote President

Barack Obama, in 2008, managed to woo voters and win hearts in conservative towns of the West with names begin in "B", and where seldom had a Democratic presidential candidate ever come calling.

Obama drew 14,000 people to Taco Bell Arena in Boise, capital of the reddest of red states.  Teenagers camped outside a Bend, Ore., high school where he was to speak, to get seats up front.  Why?  "He rocks," said one.   The Obama family spent the July 4th holiday charming the old Montana mining down of Butte.

    The Seattle PI claims this is an "article", but it's really an opinion piece. The writer doesn't even try to hide it. A choice comment on the "article":

    No arguing that people like Obama as a candidate. I just wish candidate Obama was the one who was in the Oval Office and not the chocolate version of Harry Reid
