All Hail King Corn

Raise your hand if you think a movie about corn could be interesting. I count about six hands (and they're all in Iowa). However, those half dozen film-geek farmers may not be too keen on seeing this film at the Des Moine multiplex as this movie looks at the billions in subsidies being funneled into the corn industry in America.

As Reason has argued before (here, here, and here), the consequences of these subsidies are devastating. Let's hope this movie will show these subsidies for what they really are and not get too caught up in fears of genetically modified corn (which on balance has saved millions of lives).

(King Corn screenings in your area.)
