State Department Hires Former Cheney Aide to Replace Bleeding Heart P.J. Crowley

George W. Bush's third term continues apace: Yahoo! News reports that the State Department has replaced Clinton spokesperson P.J. Crowley (who was forced to resign for stating publicly that it was "ridiculous and counterproductive and stupid on the part of the Department of Defence" to psychologically abuse Wikileaks suspect Bradley Manning) with Victoria "Toria" Nuland, a "former principal deputy national security adviser to then Vice President Dick Cheney."

After resigning, Crowley wrote a piece for Alternet explaining his decision

Based on 30 years of government experience, if you have to explain why a guy is standing naked in the middle of a jail cell, you have a policy in need of urgent review. The Pentagon was quick to point out that no women were present when he did so, which is completely beside the point.

The issue is a loss of dignity, not modesty.

You can be sure that Nuland will keep such concerns to herself, assuming she shares them at all.

    Remember when those useful idiot TEAM BLUE dipshits pretended to believe in Obama? Those were the days.

    Governing takes leadership. It's about nuance. Obama is being presidential.

  • ||

    No Warty, this is Bush's fault.

  • OO||

    alotta what was released DID relate to lil w & his playmates.

  • ||

    So, Obama is Anakin, right?

    If I am forced to stand nude, I want some women around.

  • Warty||

    Into CFNM, huh?

  • Really? ||

    Who isn't?

    I didn't know what this was. I had no idea that Wikipedia would be so NSFW without a warning/jump.

  • Warty||

    There's an amazing amount of porn on Wikipedia.

    This is a long overdue nod to bipartisanship.

    "Loss of dignity"?

    We've lost our way, as a nation.

    "Based on 30 years of government experience, if you have to explain why a guy is standing naked in the middle of a jail cell, you have a policy in need of urgent review. "

    That man appears to have way too much sense to be a high-level official. Even if it took him 30 years to gain it.

  • OO||

    bring on the face-boarding & water-shooting!

  • Abdul||

    Wow, from top State Department official, to someone who can only get published on Alternet.

    The Ramsey Clarkification is nearly complete.

    I'm sure there's some way the left can blame this whole Bradley Manning torture brouhaha on Bush, if they just try hard enough.

  • Skip||

    But Gaia Forbid he get any credit for putting the programs in place that got Osama.

  • Somalian Road Corporation||

    Standard Obama fanatic deflection. Let's say he personally strangled the life out of Osama with his bare hands. He's still Bush III and a dipshit drug warrior among many, many other faults.

  • ||

    I guess this is what happens to State Dept. officials who have a conscience. Reminds me of the movie The Lives of Others.

  • Somalia||

    Don't you have a King who can snap his fingers and make it so?

  • Skip||

    HE GOT OSAMA! HE GOT OSAMA! BLAH BLAH BLAH I CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING ELSE!

    Seriously, this is basically what going to Daily Kos is like. They think Trump and Schuckabee declining to run is an indictment of the GOP when in fact it is great for Republicans.

    This is the man who apologized to China for the US's human rights violations. Those violations being the attempted enforcement of basic immigration law.

    China then used this statement to deflect all criticism of their real and dismal human rights record. He has no common sense.

    BTW Manning was naked due to being on suicide watch. It wasn't Obama's attempt to torture the homo for his own amusement.
