On Friday, March 13, John Stossel and 20/20 teamed up with Drew Carey and Reason.tv to bring you "Bailouts and Bull," an hour-long special that looked at failed and stupid policies related to medical marijuana, immigration, early childhood education, and more.

As long as we have you, Lefiti, we don't need anyone else...
*breaks into song*
I watched it with my wife, a Democrat and Obama supporter. She thought was good, concise and informative. Unlike Bullshit! (which I like), Stossel didn't pick on the lowest common denominator. It's also telling how many elected representatives refused to be intereviewed. Cowards, all of 'em.
The full episode hasn't been posted yet, just the low
quality clips.
I saw the full special at the http://abcnews.go.com/2020/ given
above.
You MONSTERS! All five Reason readers have
already "spent" themselves watching the preview, the preview's
reposting, the reposting of the preview's reposting, the live
event, the reposting of the live event, and all the rest. Do you
know what's going to happen? They aren't just going to run out of
'rags, they're going to hurt themselves. Some
might even go blind!
MONSTERS!
P.S. Here's
how John Stossel of 20/20 on ABC News is wrong about the border
fence. That was written before the airing, but he didn't say
anything exculpatory.
So, did reason.tv get a traffic bump from the
show?
Hit&Run sure didn't thanks to the fucking autoplay.I'm not too
happy with the commenter who suggested I run noscript as a solution
either. How am I supposed to "whitelist" all the internet I haven't
even visited yet?
Fuck. Stossel always comes across like a snake oil salesman with cheesy Onion-fodder theatrics. He should have handed over the show to Carey, who's Reason spots are much more watchable and informative.
I enjoyed the genetically modified foodstuffs offered at the
viewing party. I could not tell the difference between freakfood
and organic!
Count me as one of the converted.
I enjoyed the show, but could have done without (1) Stossel throwing around the pile of cash and (2) the megaphone in front of the Capitol. Surely somebody could have illustrated the amount of money being wasted in a more creative way. And the megaphone in front of the Capitol reminded me of a certain fatso filmmaker who's none too popular in these parts.
So, I'm thinking that by 2012, Carey will have made his shitload
of money on TPIR, his soccer team will have won the MLS Cup (damn
you, Sounders!) and he'll be looking for something else to do for
kicks.
LP nomination?
I TiVO'd the special and just got around to watching it tonight. I thought it was really good. I'm a new convert to Libertarianism, but I've already learned I have a lot more in common with this party than I did my old party. Yeah, Stossel can come across as a clown sometimes, but I thought they made great points throughout the show. I would have liked to see them focus more on the actual bailouts, and although I didn't agree with their take on border security, I thought it was an excellent show. Congratulations on a job well done to everyone at Reason and 20/20.
