I Have a Dream...of a Nation Where the Sons of Former Slaves Practice Voting Fraud As Effectively As the Sons of Former Slave Owners

A Justice Department voting fraud case in Mississippi offers an interesting twist on the usual story, charging black Democratic Party operatives with suppressing the votes of Noxubee County's white minority:

[Democratic Executive Committee Chairman Ike] Brown is accused in the lawsuit and in supporting documents of paying and organizing notaries, some of whom illegally marked absentee ballots or influenced how the ballots were voted; of publishing a list of voters, all white, accompanied by a warning that they would be challenged at the polls; of importing black voters into the county; and of altering racial percentages in districts by manipulating the registration rolls....

Up and down South Jefferson Street...in the old brick commercial district, the white merchants refused to be quoted, for fear of alienating black customers. "There's a lot of voting irregularities, but that's all I'm going to say," one woman said, ending the conversation abruptly.

The accepted myth about how racism in America will end (if it ever does), is that it will gradually fade away as whites become 'enlightened' to their 'historical guilt' and make amends accordingly. Unfortunately, it looks like what may happen instead, is that blacks will become more racist, and everyone will meet somewhere in the middle on the bigotry scale - we'll all be equally racist. Too bad; I don't think that's what MLK was working for.

The same thing happened in Wilkinson County Ms. ten or so years ago during a sheriff election. Hundreds of absentee ballots all signed in same handwriting and notarized by the same guy which helped the first black sheriff get elected. No big deal he's still in office and rumors of his corruption are rampant.

You may be seeing him in the national spotlight soon enough.

This is a non-starter, as whites will never be able to make enough amends to satisfy the victim advocacy. Racism will only end as the category "multiracial" approaches 100%. At which time we'll find another excuse for hating each other.

Racism will end when there are no statistically significant economic distinctions between white people and black people.

Until then, there will always be someone who has an economic interest in picking at the scab.

Are most elections fixed? Aren't fixed elections inevitable, when the stakes are so high?

Shouldn't elections be like Dominos pizza guys, who don't carry more than $50? If you decentralize power enough, and eliminate government powers enough, you get to the point where stealing an election really isn't worth the bother.
