Washington lobbyist Edward von Kloberg--whose former clients included Saddam Hussein, Nicolae Ceaucescu, Sese Seko Mobutu, and the vile Burmese regime--has leapt to his death from a castle in Italy.

Gay guys always throw the best parties.
Perhaps Buckley could do a book called Thank You For
Lobbying based on this guy's life. It could be a Thank You
For Smoking part two.
Satan hired him and gave him a first class ticket to hell where
they will discuss what Satan wants Kloberg to lobby God
about.
I think he'll find he's been stiffed on the expenses one last
time.
cue demonic laughter: Mwuhahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!
Edward von Kloberg...man, even his name sounds
Villanous.
That's with a capital "V."
Hey, there was an empty niche in the market and he filled it. So it was an unpopular niche....
Jumped?
Or pushed?
But what the police reports don't say, is that it wasn't his
vomit.
Within a realist's framework he doesn't sound too bad. If what
he said was true, then yeah he definately filled an important role.
Imagine if the guy lobbied away the embargo over Cuba or Iraq. Even
being in the employment of the world's worst, that still would have
been a humanitarian miracle.
The Post article was very sympathetic though.
Nostar, your comment reminds me of what P Diddy said at Johnny
Cochrane's funeral: "He's not with God yet...but that's okay. 'Cuz
there's still someone trying to get in the Pearly Gates, and
Johnny's pleading his case with the Big Man."
Finally, Von Kloberg gets to lobby for Hitler, Stalin, Mao, and
most former leaders of Latin America...no wonder he jumped at the
chance.
"The Post article was very sympathetic though."
I thought the article was bizarre. It sprinkled throughout these
little tidbits about the cape and other unusual mannerisms, and it
actually uses the adjective "flamboyant" in one of the headers..
finally.. POW! they sneak in a mention about the guy's "life
partner" in the very last paragraph. "Oh, by the way, in case you
haven't guessed, THE MAN WAS GAY!!"
For a left-leaning paper, the Post was certainly milking the sexual
innuendo for all it's worth, like it really makes a fucking
difference. I find it really fucking irritating.

Um, that's debatable. The antiwar left has really fallen far.
His clients had countless victims and opponents in their home
countries. Perhaps someone took revenge and assassinated the
scumbag?
Peter K,
From the blog of the "antiwar leftist" who made the comment about
the realist perspective:
'I urge everyone to check out Catallarchy's May Day series of posts
about communism and its toll on the world. Go here to see a list of
all the posts. At least, read one.
It's important that we "never forget."'
Ooooooooooooooooops!
