Not so much funny as true.
But Obama wants me to tell you that the car companies will build
cars powered by unicorn farts that get a billion miles to the
gallon and produces money as exhaust, which will fund all the great
programs that Obama has in store for us.
2016 and still no flying cars? What a gyp.
(And men's fashion doesn't seem to have advanced much either.)

You racist liar. Obama would never sanction the factory farming of
unicorns for their farts.
Hey Suki!
i give it a c+. we cant plug in the electric car because now
electricy is banned is a little to much of a comic stetch to be
funny.
comrade:
Obama wanted me to tell you that it wasn't the factory farming of
unicorn farts, but farts would be harvested through a collective
barganing agreement reached between the government and the union
representing the unicorn interests, the SEIU.
Oh, and calling someone who speaks for Obama racist? That's just racist!
I think this one is an exceptionally good choice by the editors, but ten gets you one that next week they'll regress to the mean and pick the most forgettable cartoon they can find.
Replace the cord with a key-winder on the roof and you've got comedy gold, bay-bee!

Absolutely. It doesn't make sense to still have an electric car
with a power cord & plug if there are no power plants.
Alternative: The Flinstone's car.
The fact that there's no Mr. Fusion on that car just
sucks.
Do you know how many baby seals are de-boned to manufacture your
precious flux capacitor? And what about the displaced habitats of
the screaming cockroach? Fascist.

By 2016, we'll have perpetual motion cars, constructed of
polished upsidaisium, which will cost nothing at all.
Obama wants us to believe this.
I believe that to put things in perspective, it is time to rebrand the electric car as "coal powered". That should impress the greenies.
Are these Friday Funnies ever actually funny? I'm never impressed.

That's an interesting point...
Wonder when the secret service (aka gestapo) is going to trade in the SUVS and full size sedans for one of these.

I've been trying to get that point across to them for quite a while
now. Considering the inefficiency of our electrical grid, electric
vehicles may end up being one huge ecological disaster.

I love it! Time to take back the language of the debate!

# What a gyp.
# That's racism straight up.
Are gypsies an official race now? I don't recall that being a
selection on the last census form. I'll look for it next time.

Maybe that's the way it is in Alberta, ya Canuck ya, but here in
California there's a pretty good mix of natural gas, hydro,
nuclear, geothermal, wind and solar electricity flowing around the
grid. Electric cars don't care where the electrons come from, so
it's rather unfair to brand them as being powered by any particular
electron source. Also, well-heeled EV owners can install solar
panels and power their cars from the sun alone, not depending on
any grid electrons at all. Several owners of the speedy and sexy
Tesla Roadster have done just that. Here is the blog of one such
fellow:
http://wildershares.com/solar.php
Oh, and I forgot to say that, over the time period that EVs will be available to and embraced by the mainstream (probably a couple of decades), it is very feasible to create solar farms, scattered throughout the desert southwest, which will offset the electricity consumption of all the EVs that the automobile industry can put on the road in the west. Eastern states, like Los Angeles did with the Colorado river, could project infrastructure into the West to tap into our wealth of solar energy. We can produce enough solar energy to run our own cars and those of our eastern neighbors combined, so long as the national grid can accommodate it all. Enhancing the grid might be an excellent infrastructure investment, if we are really serious about alternative energy sources.
