I just met Rob at the comicon in Seattle and had him sign some books. I even bought the new Youngblood with the Obama cover. There were a lot of interesting folks there. Two borg and a slave Leia, rawr.

I get it. The pirates are white, so the navy takes action, whereas in real life when they're muslim and black, the government doesn't want to offend!

Note the astonished look on the pirate captain's face. This is well-illustrated, but would have been more engaging had Rob Liefeld illustrated it, because then the look on Pirate Captain (referred to from this point on as PC) would have had an intense look replete with jaw-clenching hyperdontia and superfluous wrinkles.

Yeah, this was the first Bok I can remember that produced a real laugh, as opposed to the thought: "Ah, I see where the joke is."

He should have also included a shark with the stars and stripes
on him, so you know that it is also against the Pirates, and
written on that giant gun barrel should say "I have not yet begun
to fight!" and maybe a bird who looks like Farragut saying "Damn
the pirates, full speed ahead!" and then in the bottom corner a
little Obama saying like "well they've forgotten about the
recession/stimulus for the moment at least!" and back behind him
would be Palin looking at an abortion clinic and a church saying
'eeny meeny miny...' and a little bird pointing to her (that maybe
looks like Huffington) saying "Geez, dis lady sure wants dee
spotlight!" and then somebody looking at the Huffington bird saying
"Physician, heal thyself!"
Get on it Bok, and post the revised comic later today.

I actually thought about that, and it seems a disproportionate
amount of black people do get gunned down. On the other hand, the
prime killers of black people worldwide would seem to be:
1. Black people
2. Cops
......

But still, I could see why it would be a touchy subject.
