KABUL, Afghanistan — A suicide car bomber struck an Afghan intelligence agency office in a major eastern city Sunday, killing two guards, officials said.

The explosion happened in Jalalabad city, the capital of Nangarhar province. A car drove up to the gate of the compound used by the National Directorate of Security early Sunday morning and exploded, killing two of those guarding the entrance and wounding three others, said Nangarhar government spokesman Ahmad Zia Abdulzai. The building was also damaged, Abdulzai said.
