Clashes Between Anti-Morsi Protesters and Police in Cairo
Egyptian police fired tear gas to stop protesters approaching the presidential palace in Cairo as tens of thousands protested the assumption by the nation's Islamist president of nearly unrestricted powers and a draft constitution hurriedly adopted by his allies.
According to Reuters, some protesters breached police lines around President Mohammed Morsi's palace, live television footage showed.
