British Chancellor Caught in First Class on Standard Fare Train Ticket

Paid the upgrade because he didn't want to leave

George Osborne has been caught travelling in a first class train carriage with a standard class ticket, Virgin Trains have said.

The train manager had a discussion with an aide to Mr Osborne who paid a £160 supplement as the chancellor did not want to move into standard class, a spokesman said.
