Obama, Boehner Have Second White House Meeting

Fiscal cliff negotiations resume

|

President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner resumed budget negotiations Monday as the pace of the fiscal cliff talks quickened in recent days with a Republican offer to increase income tax rates.

The White House session Monday was the second time that Obama and Boehner have met face-to-face in the past week — a move that suggests the once-stalled talks are progressing. The meeting ended just before noon and lasted about 45 minutes.
